These pickle-garlic butter Cuban pull-apart sliders are inspired by the classic Cuban sandwich. Topped with melted butter, minced garlic, my favorite pickle juice for a hint of tang, poppy seeds, and freshly chopped parsley, they’re made with ham, cheese, and mustard mayo, then baked to a golden, buttery finish.

I love serving these pull-apart sliders on gameday Sundays, a good binge watch sesh, or cookouts with a side of pickle potato chips or baked fries—so yummy.

Why You’ll Love These

  • Easy to throw together with simple ingredients like Hawaiian rolls, butter ham and swiss cheese.
  • Great for hosting on gameday or a low-key night in when you're in no mood to cook.
  • Buttery, tangy, cheesy, and so delish!

I love when people come together to eat and have a good time, and these little bites are so simple to make.

Ingredient List

Grab Hawaiian rolls or brioche rolls from the market and slice them in half. The garlic pickle butter is simple to make, so delicious, and adds so much yumminess to the sliders.

For the Sliders:

  • Slider rolls – Soft rolls like brioche or Hawaiian are perfect.
  • Ham – Thinly sliced deli ham works great. You can use honey ham or smoked ham, too.
  • Swiss cheese – It’s melty and tangy, but you can use provolone if you want.
  • Pickles – Dill pickles are best, but bread-and-butter pickles work for a sweeter flavor. Right now I'm obsessed with grillo's pickles.
  • Mayo-Mustard Spread – A simple mix of mayo and Dijon mustard for extra flavor.

For the Garlic Pickle Butter:

  • Butter – Unsalted, melted.
  • Garlic – Freshly minced.
  • Pickle Seasoning – For extra delicious pickle flavor
  • Pickle juice – Adds tangy zip. Lemon juice works if you don’t have pickle juice.
  • Poppy seeds – Optional for some crunch on top.
  • Fresh parsley – Chopped for garnish after baking

Step-by-Step Instructions

These sliders are so quick and easy, just make sure to preheat the oven, and grease the baking dish.

Preheat Your Oven

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F.

Make the Garlic Pickle Butter

Melt ½ cup of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in minced garlic, pickle seasoning and pickle juice. This buttery mixture will be used to grease the pan, brush on top of the sliders, and pack in extra flavor.

Grease the Baking Dish

Brush the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish with some of the melted garlic pickle butter. This helps prevent sticking and adds flavor from the very first bite. If you prefer easy cleanup, line the dish with parchment paper before greasing.

Slice the Rolls

Without separating the rolls, slice them in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom layer into the prepared baking dish.

Make the Mayo-Mustard Spread

In a small bowl, combine equal parts mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture on the inside of the top half of the rolls.

Layer the Ingredients

Place layers of ham, Swiss cheese, and thinly sliced pickles onto the bottom half of the rolls. Top with the upper layer of rolls.

Brush and Sprinkle

Brush the remaining garlic pickle butter over the tops of the rolls. Be generous—this butter gives the sliders their incredible flavor! Sprinkle with poppy seeds if you like that extra crunch.

Bake

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.

Finish with Fresh Parsley

Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the sliders for a bright, fresh touch. Slice and serve warm!

Top Tip:

Bake the sliders covered for the first 10 minutes, then uncover them for the last 5 minutes for a yummy golden finish.
