Simple Air Fryer Sweet Plantains
Air fryer sweet plantains are so simple to make and surprisingly as good as the classic fried sweet plantains, with a lighter twist.
Maduros are naturally sweet and taste good with protein, rice, beans, or any dish.

Air Fried Plantains vs. Deep-Fried or Pan Fried
Air-fried maduros are my new favorite because they are way less oily but still have that delicious outer caramelized crunch and soft middle. Also, making them in the air fryer is way less messy.
Of course, the classic recipe is still delicious.
The biggest difference between these two ways of cooking maduros is the amount of oil used.
A traditional recipe submerges sweet plantains in oil, and they are air-fried and lightly brushed, which also impacts the amount of calories per bite.
Air-fried is also less messy than pan-fried or deep-fried maduros.
If you love the traditional recipe, try these crispy, sweet plantains (maduros).
