Steak & Seasoning
  • 1 Ribeye Steak
  • ½ tsp Unsalted Sazon
  • 3 Fresh Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tsp Mirin or Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil
Onion & Pepper
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 1 Large Sweet Onion
Garnish
  • ¼ cup Cilantro Leaves
  • 1 Fresh Lemon Wedge
  • 1 Mexican Avocado
Rice
  • 2 cups Cooked White Rice

Equipment

  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet or Saute Pan
  • 1 Chef Knife
  • 1 Wooden Cutting Board
  • 1 Slim Tongs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the rice- follow this simple white rice recipe.
    Slice the rib eye against the grain. Season with the mirin, minced garlic, and the seasonings.
Steak, Onions and Peppers
  1. For best results, preheat a pan to medium-high heat or medium heat.
  2. Add the avocado oil to the hot pan, add the steak, and sear until golden brown. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  3. Then add the onions and peppers to the pan and caramelize.
  4. Then, add the steak back in and saute until golden brown. Serve on fresh fluffy rice, sliced avocado, and a fresh lime or lemon wedge.

Top Tips

  • Cook the steak in a really hot pan to get a nice sear on the rib eye.
