Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 rolls
  • 8 breakfast sausage links or ½ lb ground sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream optional, for fluffier eggs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • ½ tbsp Butter

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage links until browned and fully cooked. If using ground sausage, crumble and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet, drain on paper towels, and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with milk (if using), salt, and pepper. In the same skillet over medium heat, add a small amount of butter or oil if needed, then pour in the eggs. Cook, stirring gently, until the eggs are just set and fluffy. Remove from heat.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles. On the wide end of each triangle, add a small spoonful of scrambled eggs, a sprinkle of cheese, and a few pieces of sausage. Roll up each triangle from the wide end to the narrow end, tucking in the sides slightly to seal.
  5. Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Serve warm, optionally with hot sauce, salsa, or a side of fruit for a complete breakfast.

Notes

Top Tips for the Best Crescent Roll Breakfast Roll-Ups

  1. Use Milk for Fluffy Eggs: Adding a bit of milk to the eggs makes them softer and creamier.
  2. Avoid Overfilling: Use just a small amount of each filling per triangle to prevent the crescent rolls from bursting.
  3. Seal the Ends: Tuck in the ends of the dough slightly to keep the filling from spilling out while baking.
  4. Serve Fresh: These roll-ups are best enjoyed warm and fresh from the oven for the flakiest texture.
