  • 6 Beef or Chicken Empanadas

  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 Traditional Oven Or countertop toaster/convection oven

Method
 

  1. Step One
    Place the cast iron skillet in the oven and preheat the oven to 425°. Tip: The skillet should be lightly coated with avocado oil.

  2. Step Two
    Once the oven is preheated, with oven mitts, carefully open the oven door and place the empanadas on the skillet using tongs.
    Tip: Close the oven door as quickly as possible to prevent heat from escaping the oven.

  3. Step Three
    Flip them halfway through and continue to bake until crispy and golden brown (roughly 15-20 minutes)
    Then remove them from the oven, place them on a baking rack, and let them rest for 60 seconds before cutting them in half, if desired.
    Serve with your favorite empanada dipping sauce, like a spicy empanada sauce, like aji picante.
