  • Frozen puff pastry thawed
  • Guava paste cut into small rectangles
  • Cream cheese softened
Optional
  • Egg wash for brushing
  • Sugar for dusting

  • 1 Parchment Paper

Method
 

Prep
  1. Thaw puff pastry in the refrigerator so it stays cold and easy to work with.
  2. Cut guava paste into small pieces. Soften cream cheese. Preheat oven to 400°F.
Instructions
  1. Lay the thawed puff pastry on parchment paper set over a cutting board. Unfold gently.
  2. Cut the pastry into two-inch squares.
  3. Add a small amount of cream cheese to each square and place a piece of guava paste on top.

  4. Fold each square closed and press the edges gently to seal. They do not need to be perfect.

  5. Transfer pastries to a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush each pastry with egg wash made from equal parts beaten egg and water.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until puffed and golden. Serve warm.
